Troop 228 held its Winter Court of Honor where 21 scouts ranked up and many merit badges were awarded. Congratulations also to the nine Scouts from Troop 228 that reached the rank of Eagle Scout in 2017!
Troop 228 has an amazing experience at Sea Base in the Florida Keys. The crews snorkeled, fished, swam, sailed and of course ate and slept on the boat and at Sea Base and made memories to last a lifetime.
The Troop went to the annual winter Cabin Campout and did a service project stacking firewood on a truck for the Camp Ranger to deliver to the cabins and then provided skills training for Somers Pack 1 for the upcoming…

Troop 228 marched in the Veteran’s Day parade braving the cold to honor all those who served our Country.
Troop 228 scouts participated in an Emergency preparedness Drill for our Charter Organization (Somers Volunteer Fire Department) on Wednesday, October 25th. Scouts acted as “victims” in this drill at the Lake Lincolndale Clubhouse.
Troop 228 scouts worked on their architecture merit badge at the World Trade Center Observatory. We learned about the architecture and history of the new World Trade Center buildings.
Troop 228 spent another amazing summer week at Camp Read, multiple merit badges were earned by all.
A great Father’s Day weekend was had by all at Durland and thanks to all our chefs for the top notch BBQ!
