Somers 228 Flag Retirement & Father’s Day Campout

Somers Troop 228 continued its Father’s Day tradition with Scouts camping out under the stars at Durland Scout Reservation. The Scouts began their weekend by helping retire over 1,000 Flags as part of their community service and duty to our country.  Over the course of several months, the troop folded and prepared the flags for a respectful retirement.  The fun then began as the scouts prepared a patrol style cookout followed by fishing, boating and a wiffleball tournament.
